My Small Business Journey ~ Day to Day in July

3rd July 2025 6:11am Thursday 

I had a meeting on the 30th of June but I am telling you about it in July so take what you will. 

We looked at my SEO in the meeting and it had jumped up dramatically. It went from 9.4k volume to 23k volume and is continuing to rise. I had 65 SEO clicks on one keyword which was Advent Calendar. So I am here to tell you that SEO does work! It takes time and especially if you have over 100 products in your store like I do but it is totally worth it. 

Here's a quick break down of what you should be doing. You look at your product and write into a search bar (i use Spyfu) all the keywords one at a time that you think relates to your product. You then chose the highest search volume keyword with the lowest search difficulty and thats what you call your product. You then put it in your title your alt text (your pictures) your description and make sure you url is called what your title is called. Its thats simple. Time consuming but simple.

Yay its Friday and its also the last day of term for my children which means for the next two weeks no alarms and just getting up when my body clock wakes me up. 😌

Yesterday I finished a blog! I know its been a while since I have done a product spotlight blog but Christmas is July is a huge keyword at the moment so I thought I would take advantage of it with a blog about some of my products you could do in July. 

7th July 2025 6:45am Monday 

I have been working on some new gift boxes to put in the lemon fizz shop and up on the website. They aren't complete yet but here's a sneak peek.

8th July 2025 8:40am Tuesday 

Gosh I love school holidays! I am looking after my 8 year old Niece at the moment so yesterday we went to the movies then in the afternoon I worked on getting these fathers day chilli cards complete so I could show my wholesale customer. 

22nd of July 2025 6:07am Tuesday 

Gosh its been a while since I wrote sorry about that we had school holidays and they just went so darn quick!! I went away to Port Pirie to visit my husband again and then to Waikerie with my sister Here's some happy snaps.

I also made some card packs to take with me and I actually did them this time.

I needed to get 36 cards made for the opening in Blackwood. I reached my goal :) But then I had to put codes on all my cards and put them into the square checkout system. That is taking some time but I am nearly there! 

The chilli lady also got back to me and has ordered 4 of each chilli design in tags and also some Christmas chilli tags so that is what I am working on at the moment. 

I am also helping out a fellow vendor with some vinyl decals for her earrings and keyring as her supplier has left her in the lurch. So lots to do over this coming week.

I finished all my codes for the shop so thats a load of my mine. Now when someone buys something I will know exactly what it is so I can replace it.

I also worked on my chilli tags yesterday they are nearly all complete.

24th July 2025 7:28am Friday 

Just a quick update on my codes for the shop if you do t know what I am talking about here's a visual. 

So it use to say All greeting cards and tags then under that it would say love card but I had no idea which love card it actually was that got sold. So I would have to go into the shop or ask the person in the shop at the time to send my photos of all my love cards so I could see which one was missing! Safe to say it was a pain! So now with my new coding the person behind the counter just puts the code in and wala they know what it is and more importantly I know exactly what card has sold so I can replace it! Happy days 😊

I am up at Port Pirie now hoping to get some cards made while hubby is at work today but before I left my Mum asked me to make a very special custom thank you card for her friends who is stepping down now from her organisation Elf Magic. The brief was to make it sparlky, have her Elf name sparkles on it and the logo elf. ✨️
