My Small Business Journey ~ April

Happy April everyone well second of April if you have read my previous small business journey through March and February you will know that I journal on the morning of the day after that has just been. Does that make sense? 

Yesterday was a great day I got right into making some new bright coloured happy birthday flower cards for my shelve at Lemon Fizz.

4th April 2025 7:07am Friday 

Yesterday wasn't a very productive day in the way of business because I had appointments then TV time with my daughter as she was feeling unwell. But in between I did mange to get the Easter buntings done for the Easter Activity boxes and I also got two sales from the lemon fizz shop ( a Mr and Mr card and an Easter Scrapbooking kit so yay!

7th of April 2025 6:27am Monday 

I didnt do very much over the weekend as my husband was home and I like to spend every waking and sleeping minute with him as I only get to see him 3 days out of a fortnight. But while we were driving around I did get to to edit my Etsy shop and bit. And in between things at home I got the Easter colouring done and packaged up and I worked out what I needed to for the market this weekend.

8th April 2025 6:09am Tuesday 

I had a super productive work day yesterday. I started off by getting more of the Easter boxes done for the market. Then while I was at lunch Claire from Lemon Fizz called me asking if I had any more boy coloured Easter mugs for a customer. I said yes and sent pictures. The customer brought the pink rabbit mug on the spot. Then Clair rang me back saying she wanted the same design but in blue so I made it along with some others and sent a picture to the customer. She loved it saying they are perfect for her neighbours and brought it online. So thats great 2 Easter mugs sold in one day! 

I spent the night cutting out beaks, feet and pom pom rounds for the Easter chicken craft to put in the Easter box. 

9th April 2025 6:08am Wednesday 

Yesterday I worked in the Lemon Fizz shop from 9am till 1pm. While I was there Claire the owner came in and talked to me about in the next stint I was going to be the only card seller in the shop. So we talked about moving me to a table and how to set them up so they will be most visible to customers. I am really looking forward to this next stint now.

When I got home I finished off the chicken craft packs and worked on the photo props. Today I will finish off the Easter boxes. 

11th April 2025 6:08am Friday 

Busy getting ready for the market this week. I have now finished my Easter boxes and set up a table in my craft room so I know where everything is going to go on the day. My unfinished market table..

I still have tags, cards and now mugs to make. I wasn't sure about the mugs but again social media helped me out. I put up this post 

And before long I got this response on fb from the organiser of the market!

I wasn't sure about putting my mugs on my table because they are not handmade per say but I think I just got the green light to. So yay! 🤗

16th April 2025 6:43am Wednesday 

Gosh it's been a busy couple of days let me catch you up! On Saturday I worked my little tootcus off getting everything prepared for the market. Then Sunday was the market! It was an artisten market so nearly everyone else who was there were artist but I stuck to my crafts made a few Easter baskets and sold an Easter Activity Box, some cards, some crafts and some lollipops so a pretty good day. And I met some lovely people! A particular lady Ros Walker who I connected with, she is an artist of all different mediums and get this she had her first born at the same age as me and she called her son Dylan Zachary and my son is called Zachary Dylan!! How crazy is that? While we were talking we actually found even more things in common with each other. It was really like the universe put us together in the same room at the same time!! So yay new friend! 

Monday and Tuesday I worked in the shop and around that I have been getting ready for an inspection yes we still rent but I have high hopes we will be able to buy a house in the next 5 years its just about saving a deposit! Anywho here a picture of my craft room all tidied up, I dearly want to get un there and start my Mother's day creating but I can't until after the inspection.
